Creating the cards

Back in 1994 I used to sit at my kitchen table painting.  Mostly in watercolours.  I often started painting without a particular aim, putting layers of colours onto the watercolour paper.  At times I noticed shapes appear, and I would embellish them to more closely resemble that which I saw in the blending and overlapping of the colours.  This is how the cards were painted.  There are 52 cards in the pack, and as I had no preconceived idea of how they would form, I found myself surprised and delighted by their outcome.   When I say I had no preconceived idea, I did have an idea about creating a pack of cards which might hold the essence of the primordial blueprint, but had no idea what form this would take.  After creating the 52 cards I then went about interpreting them as they affected me.  Two of the cards have been used on the www Dream site of Jane Anderson.  She interpreted it in a totally different manner to the way I saw it, and yet in the multiplayer dimensions of the card, they did resonate with me.  For those who are interested her interpretations from a Dream perspective can be seen at  http://www.dream.net.au/gallery/exhibit08.cfm   and http://www.dream.net.au/gallery/exhibit12.cfm .

So, even though the cards have an interpretation guide given by me, they can of course be interpreted totally, from your own perspective.

My path in life has always been along the spiritual road.  As a small child I was always interested in things of that kind.  I was fortunate to have parents who were in no way committed to any particular code of religion, so I was able to follow my own path. By nature I am one who follows the middle path.  I am not interested at all in putting one religion above, or below, another.  To me all spring from the same fountain, and I find myself constantly blessed by the spirit of Awen, or the Holy Spirit, or what ever you want to call it.

I still spend a lot of my time painting along with practicing homeopathy.  I am mostly interested in nature.  I find her beauty breathtaking, and am always wanting to catch, and hold in a painting, the radiant quality that I personally see when I am out in the forest, or walking through a beautiful garden.  Many times I find my inability to do this very frustrating, and often a painting may take ages for me to finish.  Yet, I am always drawn back to paint. I think most artists would say the same thing.  We are by nature usually very critical of our own work.  So,  I am hoping that these creations, the Meditation Cards, may do their work, and help bring about the joining of souls to help heal our beautiful planet and all those who live on her.
