This Vow
is essential to Mahayana Buddhism and Zen Buddhism, however, my
personal belief is that this vow can be used by all people of all
religions who wish the best for mankind.
A Bodhisattva is a
friend of the world who, motivated by compassion, spontaneously seeks
enlightenment to benefit all living beings.
A beloved friend of the Dalai Lama, another monk, was making his
transition from this life to the next. Not, it might be said, as a
trauma or a lost cause, but as a joyful journey at the correct time and
with understanding of life beyond earth life. The Dalai Lama sat at his
friend's bedside and chanted this chant for hours until the monk, with
joy and peace, made his crossing. Those who were present begged the
Dalai Lama to record the chant so that it might be shared with the
world. He agreed to do so only if it was stated that the recording could
never be sold, but only given away. This MP3 is the result. It is not
for sale but is meant to be copied and shared. This is one of the most
sacred and powerful mantras used for healing. It has truly wondrous
therapeutic power when chanted or listened to regularly. Mrityunjaya
mantra will help you to know the divinity within. It is chanted to know
eternity. The mrityunjaya mantra is considered one of the maha mantras
or great Sanskrit mantras because of its potency to give protection and
manifold blessings. Maha mrityunjaya literally means the great victory
over death. It is associated with Shiva, the destroyer of ignorance, and
the liberator from the cycle of death and rebirth. It is therefore a
life giving mantra that not only protects the physical body and gives
health, but purifies the mind at a deep level. There has been debate
that this recording is actually the Dalai Lama or Hein Braat.
Regardless...this is a healing chant that carries a very special
vibration.
The
Bodisattva Vow
May I be a
guard for those who are protectorless,
A guide for those who journey on the road;
For those who wish to go across the water,
May I be a boat, a raft, a bridge.
May I be
an isle for those who yearn for landfall,
And a lamp for those who long for light;
For those who need a resting place, a bed,
For all who need a servant, may I be a slave.
May I be
the wishing jewel, the vase of plenty,
A word of power, and the supreme remedy.
May I be the trees of miracles,
And for every being, the abundant cow.
Like the
great earth and the other elements,
Enduring as the sky itself endures,
For the boundless multitude of living beings,
May I be the ground and vessel of their life.
Thus, for
every single thing that lives,
In number like the boundless reaches of the sky,
May I be their sustenance and nourishment
Until they pass beyond the bounds of suffering
CHAKRA SOUNDS
The Solfeggio Chakra Scale
/ chime is based on the original research of Dr. Joseph Puleo of sacred
manuscripts of an original Solfeggio scale of six tones used in Gregorian sacred
music.
This chime extends the original tones of-396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852, using the
same mathematical sequence to include the following frequencies -174, 285 and
963 of the original 18-tone matrix, plus the extensions 1074, 1185, 1296, 1317,
and 1428.
(These tones as they are for experimental use only at the discretion of the
user.)
The 528Hz frequency is used by some scientists to repair broken DNA. There are
5,280 feet in a mile and 396 is 1/10th the radius in miles of the Earth's
Equatorial radius. Numerically, all of these numbers reduce to 3, 6, or 9. (For
example, 5+2+8=15 and 1+5=6). This is a part of the "code".
Tibetan Buddhists
believe that saying the mantra (prayer), Om Mani Padme Hum, out loud or silently
to oneself, invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig,
the embodiment of compassion. Viewing the written form of the mantra is said to
have the same effect -- it is often carved into stones, like the one pictured
above, and placed where people can see them.
